About the Mayor
The Mayor’s Office serves as the executive leadership of the City of Tuscumbia, working to guide city operations, support community growth, and ensure quality services for residents, businesses, and visitors. The mayor collaborates with the City Council, city departments, and local partners to strengthen the community, improve infrastructure, and plan for the future.
The City of Tuscumbia is led by Thurman Billings, who was elected and took office on November 3, 2025. A U.S. Army veteran and mechanical engineer, Mayor Billings brings decades of government and public service experience, including work with the Department of Homeland Security and state emergency management partners. He and his family made Tuscumbia their home in 2016 and remain committed to the city’s continued growth and success.
Mayor Billings’ priorities include supporting downtown development, attracting new businesses, enhancing public spaces, and strengthening city services for residents and employees.
Role & Responsibilities
The Mayor serves as the chief executive officer of the city and works to:
