Mayor Thurman T. Billings (T.W.)
Mayor Thurman T. Billings (T.W.) is a native of Rosemark, Tennessee, where he attended Tipton-Rosemark Academy. Upon graduating high school, he joined the military and is a U.S. Army Veteran. He then went on to attend the University of Memphis, where he obtained his degree in mechanical engineering. Mayor Billings has decades of government experience working for the Department of Homeland Security. He was a deputy FSD for the State of Tennessee, a deputy sheriff and also conducted yearly joint exercises with FEMA, TEMA, & MSCAA.
T.W. and his wife, Roberta, moved to Tuscumbia in 2016 and is glad to have made Tuscumbia his home.
Desiring to take on a new role in this community, T.W. ran for Mayor, was elected and took office on November 3, 2025. He is looking forward to attracting new businesses downtown, a large chain store to the highway, getting spring park cleaned up and increasing pay for city employees.
